#TBT – Christmas Goodies

Last year for the Handmade Holidays 2013 Blog Hop, I made one of my favorite projects using Graphic 45 beautiful papers. It is such a great idea and so easy to create that I wanted to share it again this year. Make something special to put in your jars and be ready to give them away when friends stop by for a Christmas visit.

Enjoy again………..

By Chris Wallace for Walnut Hollow

I love giving friends who visit our home something to take with them when they leave – especially during the Holidays. So, it was easy to decide what I would make to share with you for our Handmade Holidays Hop. Walnut Hollow® has a new shelf/ledge called Rustic Wood Ledge that I really like.

supplies

It’s reversible. Turn it so you can put something in it and it becomes a perfect holder for mason jars filled with goodies. The new line of Christmas paper and accessories from Graphic 45 – 12 Days of Christmas was perfect for a rustic handmade look with a touch of elegance!

Christmas Shelf

I began by basecoating the outside of the Ledge with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam – Organic Garden.

green outside

It is best to use a fan brush to apply the paint so you can scoop up the glitter than falls to the bottom of the jar. The inside of the Ledge is base coated with Smooches Glimmer Glam with the same brush.

Paint inside

While the paint is drying, cut the paper the beautiful Graphic 45 Twelve Days of Christmas paper – Joyeux Noel – to fit the front of the Ledge.

add paper

I cut the paper in strips to get the design I wanted. To adhere the paper to the Ledge, I used Tombow® MONO Multi Liquid Glue. This glue will give you the extra adhesion needed due to the glitter in the paint used.

I used red tulle to add ties to the jars and the Ledge.

tulle bows

Whether on the jar or on the Ledge, just tie a square knot with the tulle and clip the edges with scissors. I used Tombow® Power Tabs to adhere each Prima paper flower to the Ledge – Power Tabs are great for any embellishment. Tabs also were used to tuck red tulle ties in and around the flowers.

To add the Graphic 45 12 Days of Christmas Tags and Pockets to each jar, use thin green ribbon tied to the red tulle.

Hope you enjoyed a second look……..come back tomorrow, we have a new blog you’ll really enjoy!
